Fill out the form below to book your Melges 15’s roundtrip transportation to the 2024 U.S. Winter Series. This service is provided by the Melges 15 Class’s authorized partner, The Dude Drives LLC, who will follow up with all requests and submissions.
The Fine Print
Transportation includes:
Boat hull
Boat dolly
Spars and Blades
Sails
Boat cover(s)
Up to two gear bags/toolboxes
Details:
Boats will be delivered to the regatta site no later than 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 4.
Boats will depart the sailing center after the last regatta. Delivery back to the original location will be determined ahead of the final regatta based on the number of boats per location and the most efficient delivery path. There may be a lag of 2-3 weeks post-regatta. The Dude Drives will consider various factors to determine the best possible schedule.
Owner Responsibilities:
Assistance loading boats at pick up (yourself or designee).
Proper packing of all equipment (The Dude Drives assumes no responsibility for lost items due to improper packing/labeling).
NO LOOSE ITEMS; all items must be inside gear bags or properly secured to the boat.
Removal and proper storage of any items from the boat which could vibrate or shake loose.
Proper protection for equipment (blade bag for blades and spar bag for mast and boom required, envelope cover recommended but not required).
LABELING OF EQUIPMENT. All bags, covers, etc. should have last name and boat number written on them. The Dude Drives will supply vinyl labels to be written on with Sharpie to apply as needed. This includes all dolly parts as they will be disassembled for transport.
Boat dolly will need to be disassembled. The bolts may vibrate loose in transit. Please remove and store in the outer pocket of your blade bag in a plastic bag. If you choose to leave them in the dolly, apply electrical tape to secure them.
